Frankly, sometimes we need to enjoy a simple cheesy romance narrative and we live in a checkbook of cheesy elements together
John Crowley crafts a simple and predictable romance story that isn’t really anything special, yet captures a beautiful-looking presentation with two strong performances from Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh.
With good music, simple dialogues and structure, it still maintains an emotional connection with the audience as the chemistry and banter between the two performances is watchable and good
Obviously due to its predictable style, it feels a bit long with its pacing, and some elements may put you off, but overall Crowley’s direction and Garfield and Pugh’s performances kept it going.
